How fresh is my coffee?
Your coffee will be roasted the day prior to the ship date.
Our green coffee is as fresh as can be. We only purchase green coffee as it is arriving from the farm to the warehouses. This is why we rotate our coffee menu constantly so that we can offer the freshest possible product.
Why do you not have the same coffees and origins year round?
Coffee is seasonal and because our offering philosophy is to only have the freshest and best-tasting coffees we can find this, in turn, does not allow us to have some origins and/or specific coffees year round. We want you to be able to have the best and freshest product available and just like produce coffee degrades with time.
Once we run out of one coffee we will purchase the next fresh lot that is as unique, delicious and tasty as the others.
When do you roast?
We roast on Tuesdays and ship the next day.
Can you pre-grind coffee?
Although we do not recommend pre-ground coffee because it compromises taste and freshness, we can! When ordering please specify which brewing method you will be using and we will grind for you.
Is your coffee “Fair Trade” or “Organic”?
We do not purchase specifically labeled coffee being “fair trade” or “Organic”. From time to time some of our coffee will have these labels but we do not specifically seek these, our goal is to purchase for quality and taste. Any of these labels does not guarantee sustainability or quality of the coffee. All of our coffees are environmentally sustainable and we pay much higher than “Fair Trade” prices to the farmers.
Most of our farmers are very small and can not pay for certifications of any sort. A deep trust from all parties exists in the knowledge that we are purchasing coffees that are environmentally friendly and no chemicals and pesticides are used in the growing and processing of such.
Do you have Dark or Mediu, Roasts?
All our coffees are generally in the Light to Medium-light Roast spectrum. We roast with a technique that brings out the best of each coffee and at the lighter roast point is where all the flavors are highlighted to their best potential. Some will be lighter than others all depending on the particular bean and at which point its flavors are highlighted best.
Do you have Decaf?
Most of the time we will have it on our menu. If there are none is because we have sold out and are looking for only exceptional decaf coffees that meet our high standards.
How should I store my coffee?
We recommend keeping the coffee away from extreme heat or cold. Our coffee bags are a great place to keep them fresh. But you may also place them in an airtight container (ceramic, glass, plastic or aluminum) away from light and in a cool environment. Never put the coffee in the refrigerator.
If you want your coffee to stay fresher longer we highly recommend using a vac sealer. There are some very good reusable options for vac sealers if you prefer environmentally conscious options. The trick here is separating into smaller quantities, we recommend sealing in 4 oz increments.
If you have too much coffee you can store vac sealed coffee in the freezer for an even longer shelf life. But we highly recommend using this coffee immediately after taking it out of the freezer. So either have a way to reseal the coffee and freeze it again right after taking it out or store in single servings.
How long does my coffee stay fresh?
Because coffee is perishable time degrades not only the freshness but also its complex flavors. As time passes some of the delicate flavors start to disappear and after a couple of months (if stored correctly) will start tasting stale. We recommend using coffee in the first month and a half of it being roasted (unless it’s vac sealed) and purchasing the whole bean for optimal flavor. If it is pre-ground you can expect its flavor to degrade much quicker.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards.
